Abstract

Correlation between the electro conductivity of flame and the work of the cycle in an internal combustion engine was studied experimentally with help of an ionic current sensor installed in the combustion chamber of a spark ignited internal combustion engine. It is shown that only one ionic current sensor is needed for estimation of energy release throw the combustion in spark ignited internal combustion engine.
