ANALYSIS OF KINETIC AND STATIC FRICTION BETWEEN A FLEXIBLE NANOWIRE AND A FLAT SURFACE
AbstractFriction forces for nanowire elastically bent on flat surface are investigated. Models based on elastic beam theory are proposed. Distributed friction force is determined for 2 cases: 1) nanowire is uniformly dragged at its midpoint and bent by kinetic friction forces, 2) nanowire is held in bent state by static friction forces. The described method is demonstrated for ZnO nanowires on Si wafer.
